President Trump’s COVID diagnosis on Friday boosted the Republican ticket’s social media stats, leading over the Democrats in both daily follower growth and engagement. The Republicans’ daily follower growth on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram combined peaked on Saturday, October 3rd, picking up 140,000 more followers than the Democrats. On the same day, Republicans also lead the combined engagement on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, measured as number of comments per 1,000 users.
